University of Michigan Club of Seattle

Many of you may already be familiar with John Bacon. He has written many books on Michigan sports, has been interviewed countless times on the subject of Bo Schembechler and Wolverine football, and teaches a course in Ann Arbor on the history of college athletics. The Seattle club has hosted his appearances in Seattle on several occasions. John's a great speaker with encyclopedic knowledge of Michigan sports and a deep love for our University, and all of his engagements in Seattle have been very well received.

John has a couple of new books to talk about this fall, and he will be paying a visit to us here in Seattle to share them with us, as well as his always insightful comments on Michigan sports. His first book is "Playing Hurt: My Journey from Despair to Hope", and his second one is "The Great Halifax Explosion: A World War I Story of Treachery, Tragedy and Extraordinary Heroism". The second book, in particular, is getting a great deal of favorable attention, and Hollywood is already knocking on John's door for movie rights.

We will be offering copies of "The Great Halifax Explosion" at the event, and John will be happy to autograph them for you. These will make great Christmas presents. We will be offering a few for sale at the event, but your best bet will be to purchase one along with your registration for the event to ensure that we have one waiting for you.

The club will be providing hearty appetizers to everyone attending the event.

We only have ten seats left for this event, so be sure to purchase yours today!
